A bit, based on some reviews, I was worried the syrup might have an overly artificial taste, but that worry was unnecessary. It tastes excellent—almost like chocolate—and it definitely doesn’t interfere with anything in my food in an unpleasant way. The only unpleasant “aftertaste” I noticed was when I happily poured it straight into my throat while drinking a chocolate chug. You can take it that way too, but it’s just not quite the same.
