L-Glutamine – a conditionally essential amino acid, sweetened only with sweeteners derived from the stevia plant

L-Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid in powder form that you can simply mix with water. One scoop weighs 7 g and contains 6 g of pure L-glutamine.

The rest consists of sweeteners from the stevia plant, malic acid as an acidity regulator, flavouring and colouring. There are no other sweeteners or additives in the formula.

The product is gluten-free, lactose-free and GMO-free, suitable for vegans, and we regularly test it for heavy metals and microbiological purity.

Sweet taste without sucralose or aspartame

The sweet taste comes exclusively from sweeteners of natural origin, specifically steviol glycosides from the leaves of the stevia plant.

Enjoy the pleasantly refreshing taste in two flavours (green apple and lemon-lime). Their colour comes not from synthetic dyes, but solely from chlorophyll, supplemented with curcumin in the lemon-lime flavour.

GymBeam L-Glutamine with Green Apples
The amino acid found in the greatest abundance in the body

Glutamine is an amino acid that accounts for approximately 60% of the free amino acids in muscles.1

The body can produce some glutamine on its own, so it is classified as conditionally essential. This means that under normal circumstances, the body's own production is sufficient, but, for example, during periods of increased physical exertion, more may be needed than the body can produce.1

We obtain it from our diet mainly through meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, and legumes. One scoop contains 6 g of glutamine, so two scoops a day provide 12 g.

What does research on glutamine focus on?

The most attention is given to recovery after a demanding workout.

A randomized study of physically active men examined how quickly strength returned after strenuous training and how much muscle soreness they experienced. The glutamine group showed less loss of strength and less muscle soreness over the following four days.2

A second randomized study involving both men and women used eighty repetitions on an exercise machine and recorded faster recovery of strength and less muscle soreness, with a more pronounced effect in men.3

Who Is L-Glutamine Suitable For?

1. For strength athletes
Glutamine accounts for approximately 60% of the free amino acids in muscles, and during intense exercise, the body may use more than it can produce on its own.1

2. For endurance sports
Running, cycling, or triathlon—activities involving long training sessions. These are the sports in which the most hours of exertion accumulate each week.

3. If you train six times a week or twice a day
The shorter the break between workouts, the less time your body has to produce glutamine on its own.

4. If you want only plant-derived sweeteners
Sweetness comes exclusively from sweeteners derived from the stevia plant.

5. For vegans and vegetarians
The richest sources of glutamine are meat, fish, and dairy products. You get less of it from a plant-based diet, although legumes contain it too.
